Oh the suspense, because y'all have been waiting for March's update clear into April! No worries, it means April's is just that much closer. (I refuse to get behind on that one.)
Here's what we've been up to:
Jensen: Successfully built and coded a sensor for his lab that can detect temperature, relative humidity, light, and maybe something else I'm forgetting. He planted two blueberry bushes, one each in a twenty gallon pot, which both now sit in our bedroom near the only southern facing window we have, soaking up all the sun. His love of Harry Potter extends to the illustrated versions, of which he found the Prisoner of Azkaban at the library and quickly devoured it. Figuratively.
Ally: Began learning about mending clothes, and made extensive mends to a holey (and now holy) pair of jean capris that were becoming a bit immodest. She's been striving to discover recipes for cold soups (cue Texas summer heat), but alas, most of them you must still turn the stove on to cook, and then chill afterwards, which of course defeats the purpose. She spends a little time each day watching the birds eat seed from her homemade bird feeder, and then regrets feeding them when they wake her at the crack of dawn.
Both of us: Traveled to Alabama for "spring break," during which we drove through Louisiana, Mississippi, and (duh) Alabama, our first time for all three states. We got to spend time with Ally's people (mom, sportsmaster Michael, grandparents, sister, aunt, cousin, and the cutest nephew), eat dang good boudin balls, play in the Gulf of Mexico, and breathe. Until reality barged back in and we realized we'll be homeless in July if we don't find an apartment soon. You know, the usual.
Near or far, thanks for loving us and keeping in touch. We miss our Utah and Florida friends, our Washington family, and all those spread out in between.
