Something I want to do with this new year is take more photos of us, and to use this space as a bit of a journal. Once a month is my current aim, and I don't see myself getting much more ambitious than that for a while. We'll see if I can keep up with just the monthly.
But here it is; here is us. In our apartment. In the middle of Texas. Accidentally matching. And very much in love. A quick update:
- Jensen: Starting a new semester of graduate school. He picked a lab to join, and will be working with the newest faculty member of his department, an epidemiologist who has ideas for soil and entomology projects. His lab choice means we'll be here for another five years, so get comfy! Also, he's recently been asked to work with the deacons (12- and 13-year-old boys) in our church, and be an assistant boy scout master; he's wary, but willing.
- Ally: Working through a quarter life crisis. Having left her gig at Hobby Lobby last month, she chopped off twenty-two inches of hair and is soul searching to see what she wants to do with all of this time on her hands. She still loves creating embroidery and sewing projects, and writing nonfiction, so she's riding that wave until it takes her to the next shore of life. Also, she's recently been asked to work with the young women in our church for their annual camp in Colorado this summer; she's so stoked.
Thanks for checking in! Enjoy these outtakes.
